Quintus Fulvius Flaccus
 
Roman statesman and military leader. He was consul consul four times (237, 224, 212, 209 B.C.), censor (231), pontifex maximus [high priest] (216), and urban praetor (215). He distinguished himself in campaigns against the Gauls, Insubrians, and Ligurians. In the Second Punic War he triumphed over Hanno, the Carthaginian general, in 212 BC. He defeated (211) the Carthaginians near Beneventum, captured (211) Capua after a prolonged siege, and overcame (209) Hannibal's garrisons in Lucania and Bruttium.
